Have You Ever Said ICan't Do That?

You cannot ignore your self-limiting beliefs as they have been with you since childhood, as you grow older they drain your confidence and have a negative effect on your personal development. The early formation of self-limiting beliefs eventually leads to a negative self-image.

Your belief system can be likened to a gyroscope or compass that keeps you on a balanced course heading towards your goals. Self-limiting beliefs which form part of your belief system can present themselves in the form of “I cannot do that” which knocks your compass bearing as if your are in the Bermuda Triangle not knowing which way is North or indeed which way is up.

How many times have you found yourself facing a new situation and found that thought passing through your mind even before you have looked at all the facts or alternatives. It is human nature for this to happen – you are not alone.

It is a good exercise, in private, to write out the list of things that represent your self-limiting beliefs, for in doing so you can look at each one and see ways of changing them into positive strong beliefs. The boundaries that you set in your mind determine the level of success you reach. Your beliefs determine the quality of your life.

If I asked you ‘Could you increase your earning by more than 100% this year’, what is the first thought that leaps into your mind if it is “No” that is one of your self-limiting beliefs rising to the surface, because with this very reaction you are placing a limitation on your expectations.

If you cannot see yourself as succeeding in your career by promotion to new roles you are setting limitations on your career.

And the loop continues. Overtime you have implanted a complete set of limiting beliefs and boundaries in your mind. These limits and boundaries prohibit you from living the life of your dreams and diminish your chances to succeed.

Can you prevent self-limiting beliefs from ruining your life?
Can you replace self-limiting beliefs with a positive belief system?

1. Discover your life purpose

Look at anything that you are really passionate about, it is strange if you have and self limiting beliefs about whatever that is you find that your belief system does nothing but support you.

Although many of my social circle would question it I have always been shy in situations. Negative people suck your energy and vitality. Negative people can steal your dreams. The self-limiting beliefs that have been forced into your mind as you grew up will construct limits and boundaries that you must defeat. They have the right to voice out their opinions and you have the right to keep moving with solid belief in your dream and purpose. The best way to become positive about yourself and your dreams is simply to mix with positive people shy away from those who moan and are negative.

3. Remove your mind boundaries

You have to figure out what beliefs are stopping you from getting what you want. Make a list of the top 3 limiting beliefs. It was Winston Churchill who said 'Never Give Up' and that is also true in your pursuit of your dream, never ever give up there will always be a way to accomplish the thing that you desire the most. The greatest motivator of all is ACTION, for by taking action towards your goal you will create the power that attracts success.

5. Question your beliefs

Ask yourself, "Is this belief really true?Don't you accept that FEAR is really false evidence appearing real? In truth I can almost guarantee that all of your self limiting beliefs have no real foundation.
