These are difficult times that we are going through, redundancies; businesses closing down; house repossessions; rising prices; less money in our pockets, we may feel that as individuals there is no where for us to turn and creating a life plan or strategy is meaningless; it is stress management that we need. For many people stress management is needed in their lives at an alarming rate, and it is this stress that stops them from thinking clearly about their problems and creating the best life for themselves. But how many times have you found that you have been unable to find an answer to a situation or problem only to find that a couple of days later when you were not thinking about it a solution pops into your mind.
Why does this happen, and it doesn’t happen just once but over and over. There are people who have a problem and their solution is to write it on a piece of paper and place it under their pillows at night before they go to sleep, they leave it there and using positive thinking believe that the next morning or one or two mornings later they will think of a solution. The reason, their subconscious is quietly working away on the solution when they stop being stressed by the problem, which is when they are asleep. They believe that by having a positive attitude you can change your life for the better.
What is a problem? Some see deciding where to go for a night out a problem, or what clothes to wear when going out with friends, their minds are full of negative thoughts they say they want a new life but their negative thinking only means they need stress tips on how to get a dream life. . These are not real problems but your mind could be filled with minor situations such as these which if you become stressed out can grow into real problems.
It is said that on average a person has fifty thousand thoughts every day, which is an awful lot of information to be packing into your subconscious mind and what we call a brain, no wonder we have information overload. In case you doubt this, for a start try counting the number of marketing adverts you see each day, the snippets of news you see, hear and read, which set off a train of thoughts in your mind. Then you can add in the information you take on board at work and at play is it any wonder that some find it difficult to sort out what are the real problems in their lives.
Amongst all those thoughts have got to be included desires and dreams of what you would like in your life. That new car advertised on television, the exotic holiday that you have never had even just walking in a new part of town and seeing some lovely houses could give you thought of what would it be like living in a house like that. Just stop for a moment and read those words again; the new car – what does that conjure up in your mind, read no further until you paint a mind picture of your dream car. Now think about the exotic holiday, where would you go, what would it look like, who would go with you, if it is not Angeline Jolie! When you have that image clear then what about the sort of house you would like to live in, the sort that shouts from its rooftops ‘I have arrived; I am successful’.
What you have just done is to use the power of positive thinking in place of stress management and FOCUS on something that could be life goals; that is the main difference between daydreaming and real goals and real solutions to problems. The way to find solutions to real problems is to focus on them in your subconscious, write it down on a piece of paper. Write underneath what you believed caused the problem in the first place then read what you have written over and over until it is firmly in your mind.
When you go to bed, put the piece of paper under your pillow and as you do say to yourself you will have a solution to that tomorrow. Think no more about it, go to sleep and invariably you will have a solution the next morning. If it a complicated problem of real proportion it may take two or three evening of not thinking about it but the answer will come. It could come to you the next time you read what you have written, but be ready to act on the solution do let it get lost in the myriad of other thoughts your are having that day.
